Kathy's early years were in Wichita, Kansas, with a double major in Home Economics and Education from Friends University. She spent her childhood summers on her grandmother’s farm and working in her restaurant. And dreaming during her business career of opening a bed and breakfast-and here it is!
Kathy and Tom met on Lake Texoma in 2002 and mutually decided to move to a better lake-Table Rock Lake. Tom had always been a backyard organic gardner, but after attending a permaculture certification class, he shared his knowledge and experience with everyone, from Master Gardners to his wife Kathy. Some produce is still grown in a few beds of the greenhouse.
Together, they purchased Heritage Ranch in 2005, commuting from Dallas each week end through 2012 to complete extensive remodeling and opened in 2013. It was closed from 2016 due to Tom's health and subsequent death, with a reopening in 2019.
Kathy has been a Certified Property Manager since 1984 and a Certified Commercial Investment Manager since 1995. She has been on faculty of Institute of Real Estate Management since 1986 and served on the Table Rock Chamber of Commerce Board, Dallas Apartment Association Board for 7 years and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for 10 years.
She has made the Ozarks her home and loves every day of it!
